Elcoman is one of the world's largest manufacturers of shredders: 150,000 machines per year, which are entirely designed and manufactured in Italy.

History
1985-1995
1985 KOBRA began manufacturing paper shredders in Italy. First company to introduce "electronic eyes" technology for automatic start/stop.
1995-2005
Robust high precision gearbox is developed and patented by Elcoman. This unique system is the basis of Kobra products to this day. Reliability and long-lasting performance are the characteristics of this control system: the new Kobra series has been exported to 70 countries worldwide. In 1997, the production system was certified to the ISO 9000 standard.
2005-2010
The US National Security Agency (NSA) and the US government set the strictest standards for the destruction of classified documents. A new Kobra HS-6 line was developed, approved by the NSA and included on their list of approved shredders.
2010 to present
Developed touch-screen technology to control shredder functions. Elcoman once again finds itself on the cutting edge of the data security market through the development of the Kobra SSD disintegrator. It is a dedicated hard disk shredder that can shred smartphones, tablets, USB flash drives, electronic cards, CDs, DVDs.

Arc's latest innovation is Hybrid Technology- Kobra's hybrid system uses the energy stored during the shredding cycle to improve efficiency and disconnect the machine from the electrical system. This saves up to 15% of otherwise used electrical energy.

What you should consider when choosing a shredder:
- The number of sheets you need to shred daily
- The privacy of your data
- The types of media to be shredded (paper, CDs, credit cards)
- How many people will use the shredder daily
- What is your budget
