53rd International children art exhibition Pentel ICAE

Rules of participation

The International Children's Art Exhibition (ICAE) was founded in 1970 in Osaka, Japan and is proudly sponsored by Pentel. Our intention is to explore the vivid imagination of children. ICAE gives children aged 3 to 15 the opportunity to show their creativity through drawings and collages. Pentel believes that art spans all areas of development and encourages creativity in children. It helps develop the child's intelligence and personality and gives him the opportunity to express himself.

Tens of thousands of children's drawings from all over the world participate in the competition every year. The renowned judging panel in Tokyo includes representatives of the Biiku Bunka Kyokai (Art Education Foundation of Japan), art educators and teachers from the participating countries.

Artwork is judged on originality, expressive content and cultural expression.

Every year, the International Children's Art Exhibition starts a tour in Japan. The exhibition features winning works from all countries.

Information about the contest

1. The contest is open to all children aged 3 to 15 years.
2. We accept applications with unpublished drawings up to 54cm x 38cm in size.
3. The competition does not have a specific theme.
4. One entry form (FORM #1) from this brochure must be completed and attached to the lower right corner of the back of each drawing submitted.
5. Each drawing package submitted must be accompanied by a list of all drawings (FORM #2), which includes the entry number, title of the drawing and the name and gender of each participant
6. All entries from one school/school must be submitted as one package. Individual entries conforming to the above rules may be accepted.
7. Each child can participate with only one drawing.
8. Only drawings complying with the above rules are accepted.
9. Artwork submitted will become the property of Sponsors and will not be returned.
10. In connection with the 53rd ICAE competition, Pentel Bulgaria will organize a raffle in which it will give art materials to 12 of the participants. All children who sent a drawing for the contest to the OK Office office in Sofia will automatically take part in the raffle.

The prize pool consists of 12 items. colored pencils Pentel Arts 24 colors and 12 pcs. Pentel Arts oil crayons 50 colors.

Winners will be drawn at random after the entries have been collected. Winners will be able to receive their prize in person at any OK Office office or by courier delivery at their expense.

Deadline: October 31, 2022.

The deadline for receiving the drawings is October 31, 2022. For your convenience, you can send the drawings together with the completed forms to the OK Office in Sofia by October 15th. We will collect all the drawings and send them to Germany in time.

You can also send drawings directly to Pentel headquarters in Hamburg, Germany. Drawings must arrive there by October 31st. At the beginning of November, they will send all the drawings received to Japan.

Decision making: January 2023.

Announcement of results: June 2023

Exhibition: Tokyo, March 2023.

After the exhibition in Tokyo, the drawings will be exhibited in Osaka and other cities in Japan.

Prizes: Winners receive a certificate in Japanese as well as the corresponding medal. The prizes will be sent to OK Office (Pentel distributor for Bulgaria) after the results of the competition are announced. We usually receive the awards at the end of August. Winners will be contacted by email or phone to arrange prize delivery.
