A central component of modern security concepts is user authentication and access authorization. Passwords have long ceased to provide comprehensive access protection - they are all too easily forgotten, changed too rarely or inadvertently disclosed to third parties due to carelessness. 

The most modern, especially in highly sensitive areas, is often two-factor authentication using a smart card. CHERRY follows the “do two in one“ approach here and offers a space-saving alternative with the KC 1000 SC and the SECURE BOARD 1.0, in which the card reader is integrated into the keyboard.

In addition, the SECURE BOARD 1.0 also has a contactless card reader located on the back of the keyboard. This can also conveniently read RFID and NFC cards or tags contactlessly. This equipment opens up a whole range of applications for SECURE BOARD 1.0: ID card systems for closed user groups can be used via the keyboard and company ID cards, for example, can be read.
